In support of domestic violence awareness, From Her Corner is conducting its first fundraiser. All of the proceeds will go towards making holiday baskets for families affected by domestic violence. The first goal is $500 in which Lisa Cohen will set the date to sky jump. The ending goal is to raise $14, 500.
Due to the success of From Her Corner's first "A Purple Afternoon," it has become an annual event. With the complications of Covid-19, this year's event will take place virtually. Stay tuned for more upcoming information.
This was From Her Corner's first annual "A Purple Afternoon" domestic violence awareness summit. It included speaking segments from Bee Tru, The Memphis Police Department, and Jasmine Meredith of the Voices of Living Word Fellowship. Attenders were taught the red flags of domestic violent relationships, were prompted to tell their own stories, and given resources to help themselves and their loved ones.
This event was hosted by 40UP Awareness, Lisa Cohen, and Tammy Hunter. Bee Tru Awareness Outreach, Inc. conducted the awareness workshop.
